Introducing Jaxson Robert...fastest baby in the world. We were at the hospital from 3:30 until 7:30 and he came out in about 4 pushes. I have a sneaking feeling that my first birth observation was not normal. LOL
And now, onto the August Kit! We have been trying to do some new, fun things in the past few months to shake some things up. Don't want you to get bored, do we? And that led us to the idea to try...wait for it...a digital kit. That just opens up a whole new world of possibilities, doesn't it?
So we asked our lovely Master Forgers to scour the web and share with us their favorite Digi kits. We then make a master list and have everyone vote on their favorites. Wouldn't you know it...there was a tie! That is when Meridy and I stepped in and picked the one that seemed the least like one we have done before. :) We don't want all of the kits to look alike.
I'm assuming most of you stared at the CKCB, but in case you didn't...here is the kit we picked for this month from ScrapOrchard created by the lovely Chelle's Creations. **Make sure you head over to ScrapOrchard to see the kit a bit better.
Isn't it fun? I very well may be going ahead and purchasing this kit. Did you know you can print out digi elements if you are a paper scrapper? So fun! You can use pop dots to give them more dimension. There are TONS of free digi kits/elements on line. You should give them a try! (2 peas has a LOT of them!) Also, remember to start out with a good way to organize them all (I use folders sorted by theme) as it is addiciting and you will collect more than you think. LOL
On to my kit! I have not come up with a good name for it, so it will just be nameless and mysterious.
Picking paper to do justice to the inspiration kit was harder than I thought. The original papers had such personality and vibrant colors that finding just the right shades proved to be a challenge.
I played a little fast and loose with the embellishments. I did some close matches and I also substituted some of my own ideas for them. Love those flair buttons (I don't generally use bottle caps, so these were a nice replacement).
I also spent a lot of time with my Cricut. It was really fun cutting out some cute, summer themed embellishments for my kit. I need to use it more often.
There was some great stitching files that I am hoping to simulate with some stitching stamps and rubons. And check out my Washi...so cute!
LOTS of alphas in my kit! I love being able to use all of these bright colored letters for titles.
Thanks for stopping by today! Our entire Design Team has some great kits, too, so make sure you head over to their blogs to see them, if you haven't already.
Our Hop list starts at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog. Head over there to see the instructions for the month as well!
