I really enjoy gardens, although I do not have the talent for making one myself. (Believe me....things die...it is bad. Very bad.)
We went on a short vacation earlier in the month to Kentucky and came across these beautiful gardens at the Creation Museum.
For the CKCB challenge, I reminiced about my Grandma and her vegetable garden while we were growing up. She had a small garden in the back of her yard and I loved to help her pick and cook things from it. Grandma had a very bad habbit of trying to pick things a bit early (mainly carrots) to see if they were ready and then trying to stick them back in the ground if they weren't. She cracked me up!
I was happy to use some of the die cuts from my kit and really like how these papers all fit together.

Moxie Fab Asymmetry Challenge!
I was perusing through the Moxie Fab Blog and spied a great challenge. I just had to play along! I love the idea of this magazine edition from Paper Crafts and can't wait to get my hands on a copy!
Asymmetry is not anything I had thought much about before. I decided not to try and analyze it and just go with the flow. (And if you know me...that is not easy. I am usually the girl with a plan.) I had not ideas for this card, just pulled out my August Counterfeit Kit and started sticking things down to create alot of layers.
Head on over to Moxie Fab and check out the challenge!

Counterfeit Kit Challenge #2: 2 for 1
Our second challenge over at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog is to make a layout and then make a card based on that layout. One of the things I really like to do to maximize my time when I get to be creative is to use my scraps from a layout to make a card or two. It is so nice to have things already together that are coordinated.
It was about time I created a little something about my new nephew, Jaxson...
While I was at it...I made a card for his big brother, Ben.
Apparently Ben has been carrying it around and showing it to everyone. Guess I had better get a new one in the mail soon.
Head on over to the CKCB and check out the challenge.

Well, look at me...
I have felt a bit at loose ends lately. Too many things going on for me to concentrate much on creating. Thank goodness that school starts next week! Entire days to myself? Whatever will I do (besides my job, laundry, cooking, cleaning....LOL)?
I decided I needed a bit of a focus and of course the Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab jumped out at me from my blog reader. I generally don't participate in challenges besides the ones I do for Counterfeit Kit Challenge. No particular reason. Just am in my own little crafting world most of the time. :)
The Tuesday Trigger intrigued me, however, and I immediately had an idea for it!
Here is the photo to inspire us:
And here is my take on it:
I really loved the pops of red, yellow and teal, so I used those as a base for my card. I love my Unity Library stamp, so I stamped it on navy cardstock and embossed it with white. I can't seem to resist my notebook paper punch with that stamp. I tried. I failed. I think it looks super fabulous!
You still have time to give the Tuesday Trigger a shot yourself. You have until August 12st and midnight to get inspired and link up to their blog. Have fun!

Why are you standing around? We have a kit to make!
Um, anyone seen my summer? It seems to be missing. LOL I spent a good chunk of my summer anticipating the arrival of a new nephew and the invitation to be in the delivery room. The catch...they live 2 1/2 hours away and the Dr. did not seem interested in figuring out when the little guy was going to come. But he is here now...
Introducing Jaxson Robert...fastest baby in the world. We were at the hospital from 3:30 until 7:30 and he came out in about 4 pushes. I have a sneaking feeling that my first birth observation was not normal. LOL
And now, onto the August Kit! We have been trying to do some new, fun things in the past few months to shake some things up. Don't want you to get bored, do we? And that led us to the idea to try...wait for it...a digital kit. That just opens up a whole new world of possibilities, doesn't it?
So we asked our lovely Master Forgers to scour the web and share with us their favorite Digi kits. We then make a master list and have everyone vote on their favorites. Wouldn't you know it...there was a tie! That is when Meridy and I stepped in and picked the one that seemed the least like one we have done before. :) We don't want all of the kits to look alike.
I'm assuming most of you stared at the CKCB, but in case you didn't...here is the kit we picked for this month from ScrapOrchard created by the lovely Chelle's Creations. **Make sure you head over to ScrapOrchard to see the kit a bit better.
Isn't it fun? I very well may be going ahead and purchasing this kit. Did you know you can print out digi elements if you are a paper scrapper? So fun! You can use pop dots to give them more dimension. There are TONS of free digi kits/elements on line. You should give them a try! (2 peas has a LOT of them!) Also, remember to start out with a good way to organize them all (I use folders sorted by theme) as it is addiciting and you will collect more than you think. LOL
On to my kit! I have not come up with a good name for it, so it will just be nameless and mysterious.
Picking paper to do justice to the inspiration kit was harder than I thought. The original papers had such personality and vibrant colors that finding just the right shades proved to be a challenge.
I played a little fast and loose with the embellishments. I did some close matches and I also substituted some of my own ideas for them. Love those flair buttons (I don't generally use bottle caps, so these were a nice replacement).
I also spent a lot of time with my Cricut. It was really fun cutting out some cute, summer themed embellishments for my kit. I need to use it more often.
There was some great stitching files that I am hoping to simulate with some stitching stamps and rubons. And check out my Washi...so cute!
LOTS of alphas in my kit! I love being able to use all of these bright colored letters for titles.
Thanks for stopping by today! Our entire Design Team has some great kits, too, so make sure you head over to their blogs to see them, if you haven't already.
Our Hop list starts at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog. Head over there to see the instructions for the month as well!
Can't wait to see your kits! Don't forget to post them on the CKCB to Mr. Linky!
