June's Counterfiet Kit!

This year is just flying by!  I am so happy it is summer finally and I get to hang out with my two favorite kids all day, every day!  They have worked so hard this year; I know we are all ready for a break!  This will be the first summer of mom working, so I am a little nervous about juggling both.  Working from home will present some challenges (the kids are used to my undivided attention), but I know we can handle it.

Meridy and I had a brainstorm for our counterfeit kit for June!  I am so excited about this one!

Shimelle over on 2 Peas (also known as Glitter Girl) had a fabulous National Scrapbook Day challenge that was right up our alley!  Go over to 2 Peas to see her great challenge and video: Kit Me Up and get a feel for OUR challenge for the month!  Also, don't forget to stop over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge to see the details of our challenge for this month!

This month, the inspiration will all have to come from YOU as you only have a basic list of kit necessities to go off of for putting together your own kit!  I am excited to share with you my process for doing that this month.

***My camera has been laid to rest so, until I replace it, all of my photos will be from my phone.***

My inspiration for my kit is based on some stamp sets that I absolutely LOVE and am anxious to plan some projects around:

These stamps remind me of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party from Alice in Wonderland, so that is the direction my kit is going to take!

Now that I have my theme, I picked my key sheet of paper that will give me my color scheme and feel of my kit.  My key sheet of patterned paper is a fun mix of rainbows, clouds and  mushrooms from Sassafrass Lass.  From there I added some fun patterns/colors that went well with that paper.

Cardstock seemed the next logical choice.  I chose to keep them nuetrul to balance out the pretty bold colors of my patterned paper.

Next up was the smaller things to round out my kit:

My surprise item?  A perfect fit for my kit:

So here is my complete kit!  Mad Hatter's Tea Party!

I had a LOT of extra things that I wanted to put in my kit, so I made a few add ons, too.

My sweet girl, Isabel, insisted on getting in on the fun, so here is her kit In the Jungle:

I CANNOT WAIT to see what kit's everyone has put together!  I am so excited about this!

Here is the hop order, in case you did not come here by way of the CKC blog.  Don't miss any of them!

I picked paint as my messy item, too. Not sure what to do with it, but I'm going to try something! Everything looks great - have a great month!

I love the resin flowers, journal spot that looks like a "pow-crash-bang" from old Batman shows, and your mushrooms. I could shop from your kit. Haha

Thank you for breaking down your process here. This is my first time trying to participate but I expected to have to copy a kit not create one of my own! It seems easier to start with one "inspirational" piece so I will try that. Thank you!
